So I've finally created a shorty myspace page. I'm an idiot, and first created one under a regular page, where I can't upload songs. So the link is www.myspace.com/shortytwoinch instead of www.myspace.com/shorty2inch which I'll have a little message saying how dumb I am and telling all the people (because there will be many; like, at least me and you) to go to the real page. I'm going to put songs on there as soon as I can, and put a profile up, too. It'll be all gnarly when it's done. I'm torn as to how to feel about the whole myspace thing, but whatever. I'm rolling with the times. No need to be a dinosaur in the digital age, you know? YOU KNOW?! And, I've actually started writing lyrics. I'm like, almost done with one whole song. Holy shit! Recording to commence sometime soon. When are you coming to visit? Update shorty site if you want (tell everyone what you're wearing).

After a short, unplanned break from 2 inch, I've started writing again. I've been real busy with some other projects; I play in a band called Lazy and we don't really do anything, and that takes up most of my weeks. But after sticking my toes in the water, I think it's time to get back to what I'm not really that great at. I hope I can get some stuff done in the coming months. I've even started writing another pbm, which is weird cause now I have my own apartment to poop in. Love life and watch the olympics (on TEVO).
So here's the deal with the new album. It's all in pre-production phase 1 right now, which is just getting basic concepts down. I've got the basic concepts of about five or six songs, and I'm looking to add a couple others. I'm shooting for 8 or 9 tracks on the album. I don't want to go into too much detail about the songs themselves, although I can tell you that I'm branching out with the songwriting on this album. There's one gospel tune that I think will rock the socks off anyone who hears it, and I'm also gonna try to get a little hip hop action on a track as well. The great Tim Messler (DJ Messy Messto ffelees) will contribute a little rhythm and rhyme to that track, too. You can expect more contribution from Earle on a new song (the only finnished song I have) that I debuted at the MOBROC show last year, and also played at an impromptu concert at my apartment party a month ago (I played "what do you do with a katie earle" and "my one my love"). Lastly, I must stress that although the songwriting is branching out, I'm finding myself going back to my roots lyrically and spiritually. So set your expectation bar on the lowest placement, and get a pillow for your jaw to fall on. It feels good to get back into the game.
I'm hoping it'll be finnished sometime in the early months of 2006. I want to finnish writing the songs in the next month, and maybe start recording sometime in February or early March. It all really depends on how much longer I have to deal with your mom begging for sex all the time. Doesn't she miss you?

The Homewreckers had a show on friday, May 14th, and shorty invited me, the Webmaster, onstage to sing "Alcoholic Nate" during the Make-A-Wish benefit show in Cro's nest. It was wonderful. There are videos and pictures up on the Pics(!) Page. Enjoy! P.S. go to the barn show tonight, May 14th, 10pm, in the MOBROC barn. It'll be killer.

The new CD, "Now That's Poetry," will be released to great fanfare on Saturday, March 5th, at 3pm in the KB Common Room. Shorty will be there with copies of the CD for hanging out, CD-signing, and performing. So BE THERE. Pics page is in the works.
As you can see, the site looks a little different. Shorty's new Single, "Big Blake & Co EP," containing the soon-to-be hit single "Save The Environment" and a couple of B-sides. Check it out in the Listen section. Pics page is in the works.
It's been a productive couple of months in the Shorty camp. The Second Album, which does not yet have an official title, will be released sometime in early March of this year. Look here for the release party date. Pics page is still in the works.
