I'm back, baby!

Well holy shit. You did read that title correctly. After a nice little break, I seem to have gotten the itch to start playing and writing again. Everything is really loose and unorganized right now, but I will be playing sometime soon in NYC. I THINK I'm going to be playing Sunday, July 10th, somewhere in the city of New York. Where and what time, I have yet to find out. But I'll have my good buddy Captain Peroxide on backup vocals, maybe a new song or two, and pastries. So I'll let you know when I know. I've missed you all so much. Thanks to everyone who continues to love me and listen to my crappy songs. I'll write more when I don't have to poop. i!shorty2inch!i

As you can tell by the awesomeness of the website (thanks, cornball), the new single "Save the Environment" and two unreleased tracks are on the EP Big Blake & co. I think a copy of it is going to be put in the radio station here on campus, so I'm sure it's going to be blowing up the airwaves for the next couple years or so. Artwork for the album and the EP are both finnished and finnished again. I'm going to have a sheet posted on my door for whoever wants a copy of either, but you can also email me at shorty@shorty2inch.com if you want. Lots of goodness has been put into each, and I promise you won't be disappointed. I'm thinking the release date for the album is either going to be March 4th or 5th. I'll be wetting myself until then. My love to you all. Don't forget to milk it. shorty 2 inch wuz heeer....

mixing = suck + 1 more week

I'm in the midst of mixing this badboy, and let me tell you, it's...err..anti-climactic. I've heard these songs now about three thousand times each, but I'm still able to listen to them without my eyes squinting in pain, so that just HAS to be a good thing. I can give you sludgehammers a final tracklisting of the songs, though the order has yet to be determined. It probably won't be that interesting because most of you have never heard many of these songs, but here it goes anyway:

1- take another drink (I sound better after you've had a few too many)
2- save the environment
3- purple monkeys
4- percy
5- (answer this 4)
6- (answer this 1)
7- (answer this 2)
8- vulcanite anal douche
9- A Motley Whitesnake of Poisoness Ratts infected with some ACDC (AMWPRACrock)
10- bye.

For some reason I thought there were 11 tracks, so maybe I'm forgetting one, but whatever, it'll come. So there you go. I've mixed pretty much all the songs but two, and I hope to finnish those by next weekend. I'm excited as hell to get these things out to you guys. Don't expect to sweat with disgust at any of these songs, I've matured in my old age. But that doesn't mean I still can't rock. This album is much more melody and harmony based than the last one, which was more of a lyrical effort. Regardless, I hope you're all as happy with this shit as I am. I'll meet my warriors on the other side, strut your shit forever

I'm done, bootknockers!

Yessir, looks as though I'm done recording this bitch. It's been long, it's been rough, it's been a little fun, but mostly long and rough, but it's over. I've got one or two tracks left on one or two more songs to do, but I'm pressing the "recording is over" button on my keyboard (it's next to F12). After going over all the stuff I've done, I'm pleasantly surprised with how it's come out. I wasn't expecting the results that I got out of a couple tracks, and the others turned a lot better than I had hoped they'd be (in other words, they too resulted in unexpected..err..results). I think I've narrowed it down to about 10 or 11 songs, most of which hover around the two and half to three minute mark, though a couple are over five. So it'll be a lot longer than the last record was. There's also a whole lot more distortion than I had originally planned on using, and I like the way it's turned out. Lots of harmonies, lots of merriment, and actually a couple drum tracks. So now it looks like I'm going to begin the mixing process, which is sure to be one of the more exciting things that I'll be doing in the next few weeks. I felt a little rushed towards the end of recording, so I don't want to carry that feeling over into mixing. Expect mixing to be done some time in mid to late February. Art work for the album is coming along as well. I've got two pictures that would be great for inside and outside sleeves, but if anyone has any suggestions please email me or something. Alright, I'm done for now. I'll post again when I'm somewhere along the line in the mix. Enjoy life until we next meet. I'll be waiting in engorged anticipation until then. shortytwo

recording

Well all my adoring fans, the recording process has begun. I haven't finnished writing all the songs yet for the album (actually I'm only writing one new song, and it's that one that I haven't finnished yet), but I thought I'd get started on recording anyhow. I haven't finalized the track listing yet, which is really cool because that means I might have some tracks that won't go on the album that I can use for a B-side or something really professional like that. I got sick the other day and was throwing up and pooping a lot, so I sort of lost a day of recording which was a bummer. But I'm almost better now, so I think I'm going to start it up again. It already seems like this album is going to be a lot more diverse than the last one, with lots of different instruments, sounds, and voices. Each song requires a different guitar effect, or even a different guitar, which is totally different from my "one effect fits all" formula from last time. I guess if it sounds shitty I can blame it on this album being a rare and b-sides album. So I guess those possible B-sides that I mentioned earlier will be B-sides of B-sides, which would be A-sides. But since I haven't released them before they'd be more along the lines of A Prime-sides, but that would be confusing so I'm just going to not address this anymore than I already have. Anyways, I'll post again when something interesting happens. I'm planning on recording until the end of January, when I'll begin mixing back at school. There's no release date yet for the album, but I'm thinking it'll be sometime towards the end of February or early March. Love you all a good deal. shorters

news on the shorty front

So I'm off to home today. The recording process will commence once I get home and settled. I'm still in the pre-production phase of writing and arranging songs for the new album, but things are going well and I'm pretty sure I've got most of the songs completed. It looks like the new album is going to have some old stuff and stuff that simply does not make any sense to anyone but me and maybe one other person, but I'm excited regardless. I guess you could call it a rare and b-side record, but some of the songs are new so I don't know. Although you know you're an established rock star if you have a rare and b-side record, so that's what we're going to call it. The title of the album right now seems like it's going to be "Now That's Poetry," but that's subject to change depending on my mood and any other suggestions. It's going to have lots of different instruments and uber amounts of harmonies, so I'm really excited to see how it's all going to work out. That's all for now, I'll post again when there's something to post about. Until then though, poop with the door open and don't forget to wink at whoever walks by. eternally yours, shorty 2 inch

ps I really don't think anyone is reading this, I'm really just doing it so I can feel cool. And cool I am.
